Power of TeamMates

The power of the TeamMates program was on display in Lincoln during the state conference as high school seniors from across the state of Nebraska gathered at Haymarket Park prior to the Cornhusker annual Red/White spring football game on Saturday, April 12th. Jaime Gonzalez and Ramiro Martinez, two Bridgeport graduating seniors involved in the TeamMates program, represented the Bulldog Chapter as they received their TeamMates diplomas during the convention.

Nichols selected as FFA state officer

Brandon Nichols, Bridgeport High School senior and FFA Chapter member, has been selected as one of the State FFA officers. After a lengthy interview process, Nichols was chosen to represent the State of Nebraska FFA organization as the upcoming Vice-President.

An interview with Doug Peterson, Republican candidate for Nebraska Attorney General

I had the opportunity this past week to sit down and talk with Doug Peterson, Republican candidate for Nebraska Attorney General. I observed from his office décor, and confirmed during our initial conversation, that Doug really enjoys fly fishing. I also gathered that he often takes his gear along with him whenever he’s traveling around the state, just in case he has some free time to himself.

Boys Golf tees off season with 3rd place finish

The Bridgeport Bulldog golf team opened up the 2014 season at the Bayard Invite held on Tuesday, April 8th at Chimney Rock Golf Course. Overall, the Bulldogs finished third as a team, carding a total score of 369. Mitchell won the meet with a score of 355, followed by Bayard with a team total of 357.

Bulldogs capture second at Creek Valley Invite

The Bridgeport tracksters continued to excel on the track and in the field as the Bulldogs tied for first place with Burns, Wyoming, both teams scored 123 points during the Creek Valley
Invite held on Friday, April 11th in Chappell. On the girls’ side, the Lady Bulldogs tallied 113 points and finished in second place behind Kimball.

Giving it her all!

Drew Shaffer competes in the high jump during the Creek Valley Invite. She also competed in the long jump where she earned a 5th place medal with a leap of 13’7 1/2”.
