At their April 10 meeting, the city council approved the mayor’s recommendation of Carrie Harless to fill a vacant city council position. Harless signed her oath of office and was seated on the council.
The council also approved the resignations of Brian DeBlois, Ethan Hacket, Emmily Jeffries,Tanner Peyton and Barbara Prince from the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department, and the appointment of the following people to the Bridgeport Housing Authority: Jessica McKay (term ending December 2025), Jane Oliver (term ending December 2026), and Parker Smith (term ending December 2027).
Ordinances 1017 fixing the rates to be charged by the municipal electric system for electricity was advanced on second reading. Ordinance 1018 to amend the parking schedule and prohibit parking on the east side of Recreation Road beginning at 2nd Street to the entrance of the Bridgeport State Lakes and on the south side of 2nd Street from Recreation Road to D Street was adopted waiving the three reading rule.
