The Leyton track and field team will be well represented at the state meet in Omaha after qualifying five athletes from the D-9 district competition held last week in Bayard.
Making the trip east in the Warriors’ contingent are Alec Watchorn, Zaili Benish, Shawnee Gamble, Riley Jones, and Macey Roelle.
Watchorn swept both hurdles events as a district champion. He won the 110 highs in a time of 15.67 seconds and claimed the 300 intermediates in a winning time of 42.04.
