Eight Bulldogs qualify for state track and field meet

Eight Bridgeport track and field athletes will compete at state in Omaha after qualifying from last week’s C-9 district meet in Mitchell.

Representing Bridgeport will be Taylor Bright, Olivia Brown, Fallon DeBlois, Morgan Abbott, Ella Schluterbusch, Logan Levick, Landon Dean, and Jose Arreola. Action at the state meet will take place Friday and Saturday at Burke Stadium.

Bright qualified as a district champion in the 100-meter dash. She won the event with a time of 12.7 seconds. Bright also will compete in the 200 at state after finishing second at districts with a time of 26.69.
