When the offense can score double digit runs, pitching and playing the field is that much easier.The Bombers prep did just that in back-to-back games, dispatching the Gering Go Prep team 21-7, then defeating the Bluffs Dental Cubs 15-3.With an 8-2 record, the prep team has one regular season game left before starting the end of year tournament, Monday, July 14.
Against Gering, Bridgeport hung a 13-spot on the scoreboard in the first inning, and didn’t look back. In three innings the Bombers batters walked ten times, and pounded out eight hits, in totaling a season high 21 runs.
Leadoff hitter, Jaxson Shultz, set the tone by walking four times and scoring a team high four runs. Isaac Dean had three hits and drove in four runs. Bentley Ellis and Colton Faessler each had two hits while Grayson Mitchell, Henry McLaughlin, Dean and Faessler touched the plate three times apiece.
