Kaden Shultz had his curve ball working. He was changing speeds well, and had the Westco Express hitters off balance all night. His pitch count rose to a point he had to be removed from the game, but not before he struck out eight hitters on the night.
The Bridgeport Juniors led 2-1 in the early going, on the strength of Shultz’s pitching, before succumbing to a tough Express lineup in what would become a 10-2 defeat.
Cody Bates was hit by a pitch and stole second base before Blake Dean was walked. Hayzen Elliott lined a single to center field to load the bases with one out.The Bombers were unable to get the big hit they were looking for, though plated one run as Bates scored on a wild pitch.
