The Bridgeport volleyball team started its season on a high note by sweeping Morrill County rival Bayard 25-17, 25-15, 25-15 last Thursday evening in Bayard.
Bridgeport enjoyed balanced hitting as five different players tallied at least four kills. Kendal Deaver, Jailyn Nichols, and Ashlynn Collins led the way with five kills each. Fallon Deblois and Gracyn Abbott both put down four kills.
Avery Schneider put together a double-double in her debut as the Bulldogs’ starting setter. The sophomore handed out 22 assists and served 22 points. She also led the team with seven aces. Deaver served 11 points with four aces. Deblois and Claire Eckhardt served three aces each.
