The Bridgeport cross country team enjoyed success at the Kimball Invitational held Friday.
In the varsity boys division, Ron Varner led the Bulldogs with a second-place finish. Varner clocked a time of 18 minutes, 31 seconds. He only finished behind the top finisher Brody Fuss of Mitchell, who won with a time of 18:20.
Cooper Abbott was next in line for the Bridgeport finishers as he placed 14th. The freshman completed the course in a time of 23:12. Drake Devrous followed in 22nd in a time of 25:45 and Bentley Ellis finished 27th with a time of 31:02.
