On a festive Homecoming Friday afternoon in Dalton, the Leyton Warriors football team delivered a commanding performance, routing the visiting South Platte Blue Knights 55-13.The game, played on Friday, saw Leyton explode for 48 points in the first half alone, improving their season record to an impressive 6-1 overall and 3-1 in league play. South Platte, meanwhile, dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the league.

The Warriors wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and adding 27 more in the second to build an insurmountable 48-0 halftime lead. The third quarter remained scoreless, but Leyton tacked on another touchdown in the fourth via a pick-six interception return. South Platte managed to get on the board late with a passing touchdown and a rushing score, but it was far too little against Leyton’s overwhelming attack.

Standout Performances from Leyton Stars Leyton’s offensive firepower was on full display, led by junior running back Alec Watchorn, who accounted for four touchdowns and racked up 244 all-purpose yards.Watchorn rushed for 140 yards and two scores while adding 66 receiving yards and two more touchdowns through the air. His versatility proved key in dismantling the Blue Knights’ defense.
