The Leyton Warriors delivered a dominant performance, defeating the Shelton Bulldogs 79-22 in a non-conference football game on October 24, at Shelton. Leyton’s explosive offense and stout defense built an early lead, showcasing their depth and improving their season record.
Leyton exploded for 35 points in the first quarter, holding Shelton to 8, then added 24 more in the second for a 59-16 halftime advantage.The Warriors slowed in the second half, scoring 7 in the third and 13 in the fourth, while Shelton added 6. Leyton committed no penalties, contrasting Shelton’s four for 40 yards.
Senior Alec Watchorn starred with 146 rushing yards on 15 carries and five TDs (9.7 ypc), plus two completions for 27 yards and a TD pass, and a defensive interception—totaling 30 points. Sophomore QB Colt Van Anne rushed for 80 yards and threw for 85 yards with two TDs. Junior Hunter Borges caught three passes for 90 yards and a TD.
