It will be a busy start to the winter sports season for the Bridgeport High School basketball and wrestling teams this week. All of the teams will be in action multiple times over the next three days.
The Bulldog wrestling squads will kick off the action today on the road.The boys under the guidance of Derrick Wells will travel to the Garden County triangular and the girls under the direction of Tony McGrath will compete in a tournament in Chadron.
A number of varsity letter winners return for the Bulldogs boys.That group is led by junior Illias Lehman, who was a state qualifier at 150 pounds last season. Also back with state experience is senior Zack Jeffords. He was a state qualifier in 2022.
