The Bridgeport basketball teams tuned up nicely for this week’s South Platte Valley Association Tournament with convincing wins over Kimball and Mitchell last week.
All three schools will compete in the tournament, which tipped off on Tuesday with first-round games. The semifinals will be held Friday at North Platte Community College, while the championship and consolation games will also be contested there on Saturday.
The Bridgeport boys are seeking to win the title for a third straight year. After a brief three-game losing streak, the Bulldogs got back to their winning ways by topping the Longhorns on the road. Fueled by four players scoring in double figures, the Bulldogs earned a 59-49 victory over a Kimball squad that entered action with a 10-1 record.
