Bridgeport wrestlers continue successful season

With the postseason coming up quickly, the Bridgeport wrestling teams continued their successful season on the mat in tournaments last week.

The Bridgeport girls earned a second-place finish at the Western Trails Conference Tournament held in Hemingford.Three Bulldog grapplers won their weight classes. They were Elizabeth Menke at 115 pounds, Morgan Amateis at 120 and Cammie Rader at 140. Menke piled up four pins to win her title as she improved to 33-1 on the season. Amateis also recorded four wins by pin to improve her season record to 35-3. Rader totaled three pins on her title run to improve to 33-3 this season.

That trio piled up a team score of 63.5. The Bulldogs only finished behind WTC champion Gordon-Rushville, which won with a score of 92.5.
