BRIDGEPORT—The Morrill County Board of Commissioners convened on January 27, 2026, for a meeting packed with administrative actions, financial decisions, and forward-looking discussions on county infrastructure and tourism. Chaired by Commissioner Jeff Metz, the board approved several key items, including a new assessor appointment and a contract for architectural services at the fairgrounds.
As the Board of Equalization, the commissioners held a public hearing on a vehicle tax exemption for the Bridgeport Church of Christ. No public comments were offered during the hearing.The board unanimously approved the exemption before returning to regular session.
Several monthly and quarterly reports were received and filed, including those from the county sheriff, clerk, treasurer, and clerk of the district court for December 2025.The board also reviewed minutes from the Morrill/Scotts Bluff County Extension and Veterans Board meetings, as well as a quarterly road report from County Highway Superintendent Bryan Hoerler.
