Bulldog basketball teams tune up for WTC tourney with wins

The Bridgeport High School basketball teams tuned up for the Western Trails Conference Tournament with impressive wins last week.

Action in the tournament will begin with first-round games today. The semifinals will be held Friday at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff. The consolation and championship games will follow on Saturday at WNCC.

In the girls division, Bridgeport is the top seed and earned a bye into the semifinals. The 5-time defending champion Bulldogs, who have won 11 straight WTC tournament games, will play Friday at 2 p.m. against the winner of a first-round game between Bayard and Mitchell. Today’s other girls first-round games include Hemingford playing at Morrill and Gordon-Rushville playing at Kimball.
