The Morrill County 4-H program recently recognized two outstanding community champions whose tireless dedication has made a lasting impact on the Morrill County youth within the 4-H program. Gary and Cindy Schanols of Tiger Paws in Bayard were presented with the Friend of 4-H Award for their exceptional support of local 4-H activities. As owners of Tiger Paws, Gary and Cindy have been engaged in the community-offering encouragement, resources, and catering for 4-H events.
Their efforts have helped strengthen the 4-H experience for countless young people and the staff and volunteers at Fair time.The Friend of 4-H Award celebrates individuals and businesses that go above and beyond in supporting the mission and values of 4-H.
In addition, Justin Corman, a respected farmer and businessman from Bridgeport, was honored with the Heart of 4-H Award.This prestigious award recognizes individuals whose service and commitment exemplifies the core spirit of 4-H. Justin has served as the beef superintendent for Morrill County 4-H for many years. His willingness to help whether before the fair, during competition, or in the months after has earned him admiration and appreciation across the local 4-H community. Justin’s involvement goes far beyond the show ring; he serves as a mentor and supporter to 4-H members, generously offering his time and expertise to help them succeed.Through his leadership and kindness, he has helped cultivate a supportive, educational environment where young people can thrive in agricultural pursuits.
