Morrill County’s former assessor faces allegations of perjury in connection with a case that spurred voters to recall her last year.
Authorities arrested Rose Nelson, 54, who is now working as an employee in the county assessor’s office in Scotts Bluff County, Monday at the Scotts Bluff County Administration building on a warrant charging her with perjury, a Class III felony, according to Morrill County Court records. Charges were filed by Paul Schaub, a former Cheyenne County attorney who is now serving with the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office.
Morrill County court records indicate that the case against Nelson was filed Feb.
