Hayes Watts reached 1,000 career points as the Bridgeport basketball teams celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of Torrington last Tuesday at Bridgeport High School. Watts, who hit the milestone as just a junior, scored 17 points to help the Bulldog boys prevail 73-41 over the visiting Trailblazers. He hit three 3-pointers.
Senior Gage Nein led Bridgeport offensively in the game with 21 points. Nein sank a pair of treys. Landon Dean and Nik Weibert also scored in double figures with 14 and 11, respectively. Logan Levick added eight points and led the team in rebounding with eight boards. Dean added five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.Watts had six steals and three assists. Nein and Levick added three steals each.
Nein,Weibert, Levick, Jose Castellanos, Colton Carrier, and Raul Aguilar were honored as seniors.
