Burns,WY — The Leyton High School track and field team traveled to Wyoming on Thursday, April 16, 2026, for the Burns Twilight Invitational and came away with several strong individual and relay performances despite limited overall team entries.
Junior Alec Watchorn continued to deliver for the Warriors, capturing first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.02 seconds.Watchorn’s victory marked one of Leyton’s top achievements in the early 2026 outdoor season.
In the field events, senior Austin Beutler leaped to a second-place finish in the long jump with a solid mark of 19 feet, 4.5 inches. Beutler also contributed to Leyton’s winning effort in the SMR 1600m (Shuttle Medley Relay – 200-200-400-800) alongside teammates Colt VanAnne,Watchorn, and Riley Benish.The Leyton “A” squad clocked 3:55.00 to take first place in the event.
