Leyton track athletes compete at George Calvert Invite

MITCHELL — The Leyton track and field team turned in several standout performances Friday, April 24, 2026, at the George Calvert Invite held at Mitchell High School. The boys placed fourth with a score of 34. The girls came in seventh with 10 points.

In one of the day’s top individual efforts, senior Alec Watchorn captured first place in the 110-meter hurdles (39”) with a strong time of 14.72 seconds.Watchorn also anchored the 4x100 relay team that placed third overall in 46.93 seconds.

Junior Riley Benish claimed third place in the 1,600-meter run, clocking 5:03.98. Sophomore Austin Beutler had a busy day, finishing second in the 200-meter dash (23.86) and fifth in the long jump (18’ 2”).
