Bridgeport High School’s choir and band programs delivered outstanding performances at the District Music Contest held Thursday, April 23, 2026, atWestern Nebraska Community College (WNCC), earning a host of Superior ratings and special recognition.
The competition uses a five-point rating scale, with “1” denoting Superior. Bridgeport musicians excelled across nearly every category.
The Concert Choir received a Superior rating along with Outstanding Performance Recognition and a perfect score.The Show Choir also earned Superior honors. A Mixed Vocal Ensemble featuring Elizabeth Higgins, Avery Schneider, and Makayla Jackson earned a Superior rating. Five vocal soloists earned Superior ratings: Aubri Borges, Haden Rahmig, Coote Mulloy,Wyatt Hughes, and Jeanette Gonzalez. Landon Smith received an Excellent rating for his solo and paired with Wyatt Hughes for an Excellent-rated vocal duet.
