The Bridgeport Alumni Association is proud to award EIGHT scholarships this year for a total of $7,500. The Association has annually given scholarships to graduating seniors for a grand total of $156,800 since the year 1993. In the last ten years alone, we have awarded $66,600 worth of scholarships. Funds for the scholarships are collected from donations made by Bridgeport Alumni.
Scholarship winners are chosen based on a one-page application that requests copies of a student’s high school resume and their high school and college class transcripts; the student is asked to describe their involvement in extracurricular activities and their contribution to their community. Also considered are the student’s work experiences, special awards, recognitions, and a short essay. Incomplete applications are not considered. Scholarship award recipients are chosen by a committee of adults from the Bridgeport community.
Scholarship winners and their families are recognized at the annual Bridgeport Alumni Association Reunion Dinner, which this year is being held at the school during Camp Clarke Days on Sunday, May 31st, at noon. Attendance is expected, and ALL alumni are invited to attend – including the Class of 2026! Many alumni celebrating their class reunions will be present, and it is an opportune time for you to show your gratitude for their support!
