Bridgeport High School’s drama department brought the house down last Thursday with its spring production of the 1950s-themed murder mystery comedy *Murder at the Malt Shop*. Performed on April 30 in the Bridgeport Schools Auditorium, the show combined sock-hop energy, pun-filled dialogue, and classic whodunit suspense for an evening of pure entertainment.

The story unfolds at a bustling malt shop where strict Principal Jerry Atrick (Remi Pragnell) is busy enforcing his endless list of school rules. When the lights suddenly go out, the principal is found dead—clobbered by his own cane. What follows is a fast-paced investigation led by Sheriff Colin Allcars (Aaron Cooper), with a colorful cast of suspects including School Board President Norma Dreadful (Izzy Butler), music teacher Doe Ramey (Jeanette Gonzalez), secretary Ginger Vitus (Claire Eckhardt), and a lively group of students: cheerleader Bobbie Pinz (Ashlynn Collins), wrestler Wynn Fairly (Halle Carter), athlete Jim Shorts (Ethan Keszler), aspiring actress Holly Wood (Kambrey Amateis), goodguy Russell Sprout (Bentley Ellis), and others.
