An early-season offensive outburst powered the Bridgeport Junior Legion baseball team in a doubleheader road sweep of Kimball last Friday. The junior Bombers erupted for 29 runs on 19 hits in picking up wins by scores of 13-9 and 16-9.
“We tore the cover off the ball,” Bomber skipper James Simmons said. “We had a lot of good at-bats, which led to solid base hits. Our two-out hitting was stellar.We really rode our starting pitchers to success.”
Noah Compton collected three hits, drove in four runs, and scored twice in the victory in the first game. Colton Faessler drove in three runs and scored three times. He had a double. Zeke Sorenson added a pair of hits, while Ben Simmons collected a hit and scored two runs.
