The Bridgeport Bombers junior legion baseball team dropped a pair of setbacks to Class B Gering and Alliance last week on the home field.
In a 15-3 loss to Gering, the Bombers scored all three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Henry McLaughlin and Cooper Benish accounted for the hits. Benish drove in a run. McLaughlin, Lucas Newhoff and Thomas Liras each scored a run. Liras also reached base with a walk and had a stolen base.
Newhoff, Benish, and Benjamin Simmons all saw action on the mound.They each struck out one.
