Whether it’s caring for our nation’s veterans, helping a neighbor in need, or defending our freedom, Nebraskans understand the importance of serving those around them.
Over the past several days, that commitment was on full display across our state. I was proud to witness and share the spirit of service that makes Nebraska so special.
To begin the week, I celebrated the groundbreaking of a new Gathering Place facility. The Gathering Place has served Lincoln for more than four decades, offering hot meals to hundreds of residents every evening.The current facility is a century-old house with a 120-square-foot kitchen, which is in desperate need of an upgrade. I’m excited to see the additional lives they will touch once their new space is finished.
