WHEATLAND,Wyo. After spotting Wheatland, Wyo., a 14-0 halftime lead, the Bridgeport football team rallied back to escape with a 1614 road win on Friday night.
The Bulldogs, now 2-0 on the season, scored all of their points in the third quarter. James Jeffords struck paydirt on a 58-yard touchdown run with 8 minutes, 45 seconds left in the third. Landon Dean ran in the two-point conversion to bring Bridgeport within 14-8.
On their next possession, the Bulldogs used a 14-play drive to cover 91 yards and take 7 minutes off the clock. Daxton Malcolm capped the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to even the score. Jeffords converted the twopoint conversion to push Bridgeport in front for the first time at 16-14 with just 18 seconds remaining in the third period.
