Bulldogs suffer first loss of season at St. Paul

ST. PAUL - A long road trip east ended with the Bridgeport football team suffering its first loss of the season on last Friday afternoon in St. Paul.

The Wildcats celebrated their Homecoming with a 2818 victory. Both Bridgeport and St. Paul are now 2-1 on the season.

The Bulldogs lit the scoreboard for the first time in the second quarter when Waylon Dean scampered 40 yards to paydirt for a touchdown to tie the score at 6-6. Dean, a freshman, was making his first start at quarterback. He was responsible for Bridgeport’s next score when he broke loose for a 76-yard touchdown run. It pulled the Bulldogs within 14-12 at halftime.
