KIMBALL—The Bridgeport volleyball team earned a runner-up finish at the Western Trails Conference Tournament held Saturday in Kimball.
Bridgeport, the second seed, advanced all the way to the final before dropping a heartbreaking 25-18, 20-25, 28-26 setback to Mitchell. Gracyn Abbott led the Bulldogs in hitting in the title match with 10 kills. Alba Norman and Elena Blanco both put down seven kills each. Avery Schneider finished with a double-double of 27 set assists and 16 digs. She also collected a team-high two blocks. Kayci Sorenson finished with 11 digs and served five points. Norman and Aubri Borges served five points each.
Borges had a team-high two service aces and Norman collected seven digs.
