DALTON — The Leyton Warriors opened district play with a statement Thursday night, rolling past visiting Potter-Dix 77-45 at home and improving to 4-0.
Leyton jumped out 14-0 after the first quarter and never looked back, exploding for 27 points in the third to put the game out of reach.The Coyotes (1-3) answered with 20 points in the second quarter but could not keep pace with the Warriors’ balanced attack.
Quarterback Austin Beutler completed 8 of 12 passes for 191 yards and five touchdowns. Running back Colt Van Anne added 216 yards and two scores on 16 carries. Calvin Borgmann hauled in three passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns.
