Bridgeport’s Harless wins district golf title to qualify for state

For the first time in 20 years, Alyvia Harless won the individual title for the Bridgeport girls golf team at Monday’s Class C, District 5 tournament held at Crandall Creek Golf Course in Ogallala.

Harless became the first Bulldog golfer to win a district championship since her aunt, Candace Panas, accomplished the feat in 2006.

“It was awesome,” Bridgeport head coach Todd Janicek said. “Winning a district title is a difficult thing to do and Alyvia just went out there and got the job done in windy conditions.”
