Morrill County has received another membership dividend, this time in the amount of $5,217, from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association II (NIRMA II), the county’s workers’ compensation coverage and risk management services provider.

The dividend was part of a planned $1,000,000 distribution shared with 107 Nebraska counties and county-associated agencies during NIRMA’s annual membership meeting on Oct. 23 in Kearney.

NIRMA/II was formed by 32 charter counties in 1988 as Nebraska’s first governmental risk management and self-insurance program. For 38 years this pooling initiative has provided affordable coverage and comprehensive risk management and loss prevention services to Nebraska counties and related public agencies. NIRMA/II is owned and governed by the 85 member counties and 35 county- associated public entities it now serves. 2026 marks the 40th time since 1991 and the 31st consecutive year of dividends returned. In total, the program has returned nearly $29 million to its members and ultimately their local taxpayers.
