School Board approves bargaining agreement for the 2024-25 school year with a 4.8% increase
The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regular meeting on February 12, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library. All board members were present, and by a vote of 6-0, the consent agenda which included the approval of minutes, financial reports, bill and payroll. Demi Lapaseotes made a presentation for FFA while Sharon Endorf presented for NASB.The collective bargaining agreement with the BEA for the 2024-25 school year was considered and approved.This represents a 4.8% increase on the base plus the cash-in-lieu amount.The board considered and approved offering a contract to Derrick Wells to teach Elementary PE for the 20242025 school year. 02/15/2024 03:00 AM

City considers changes to ordinance dealing with vegetation growth near intersections on first reading
A proposal to modify Bridgeport city code was considered by the city council Tuesday evening on first reading. The existing code states that the owner or occupant of any lot or piece of ground within the city limits or within the city’s one-mile zoning jurisdiction shall keep the lot or piece of ground and adjoining street and alley free of any growth of eight inches or more in height of weeds, grasses, or worthless vegetation. 02/15/2024 03:00 AM
