SCOTTSBLUFF—West Nebraska Arts Center, with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council, and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, the National Endowment for the Arts is pleased to present Abyss by Rod Clause. Our reception for this show is November 30th at 5pm – 7pm. He has a Bachelor of Arts in 2and 3-Dimensional Studio Composite from Chadron State College, a Bachelor of Science K-12 from Chadron State College, and a Master of Fine Arts Major Sculpture Minor Ceramics from Fort Hays State University. 11/30/2023 03:00 AM

Inter-local agreement approved during commissioners meeting
The inter-local agreement with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for Extension services was approved during the Morrill County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday. Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD) once again has partnered with area students to spread the word on the dangers of tobacco use of any kind. Hastings—The deadline is approaching for middle and high school students to enter the Nebraska Scholastic Writing Awards. Teen writers who are at least 13 years old and in grades 7-12 are invited to enter original works for recognition and scholarship opportunities. Bridgeport took first place Monday on home stage during the Southern Platte Valley Association conference play production competition.Two thespians, Cassandra Hopwood and Hanna Berry, received All Conference actress awards. Local man hired for fairgrounds property manager
Two applications were accepted for the property manager position at the Morrill County Fairgrounds with Ryan Patterson on hand for the interview.The contracted position offers $1,000 per month and the position will answer to the fair board and report to the county commissioners quarterly.The job will start on December 1, 2023; it comes with no insurance or county benefits.
