Bridgeport school board makes plans for the fall
The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regularly scheduled meeting on June 8th at 7PM in the High School Library. Board Member Wickard had an excused absence and all other members were present along with Principal Lecher, Principal Reynolds, Superintendent Lambert and Ms. Vonnie Brown. The meeting was on STRIV and was open to the public with the Social Distancing Directive being adhered to. There were no new board action items and majority of the meeting was to talk about administrative updates. The following items were gone over by the administration.
Items of note:
1. The used charter bus we purchased for $144,000 will arrive in early July. It looks brand new because some generous local donors gave close to 15k to have a new vinyl wrap put on it. The bus holds 57 passengers. A brand new standard school activity bus would have cost 205K and would have held only 47 passengers. It definitely has a “Jaw Dropping” look for being a 2008 bus with high miles.
