Bridgeport stacking up the wins
A compilation of the twenty-two high school varsity basketball teams in the panhandle reveals that the Bridgeport Bulldogs are the number one winningest team right now, with 15 wins and 2 losses. Head Coach Sean Sterkel says, “We don’t really keep track of all that. We want our boys to go 1 and o every single day. We are 42 practices into this season with 17 games played. The way we look at, an average practice is 120 minutes long, so that is 5040 minutes of practice time. At 17 games with average time of 32 minutes per game, it’s only 544 minutes of game time.”
He continued to say, “We believe in the process of getting better. Repetitions are not a form of punishment. By narrowing our focus on the day we are given and maximizing each day, we trust that the training we put in will develop championship habits on and off the floor.”
The panhandle team list placed the Lady Bulldogs’ in the number two spot with a 16-3 record behind South Platte High in Big Springs and their 15-1 record. The ladies may be the runner up for the win/loss ratio, but still have the most wins overall this season, making Bridgeport a force to be reckoned with.
