Eleven graduates turn tassels at Leyton High Saturday
The 11-member Leyton class of 2019 drew a full house to their graduation ceremony Saturday. Supt. Chris Geary welcomed the crowd, thanking the teachers, coaches, parents and family members who helped the graduates on their journey to the stage they sat on and introduced Salutatorian Janessa Carley who addressed the graduates.
“Someone once said, ‘It takes a village to make a Warrior.’ As you go out into the real world, don’t ever forget where you came from or who helped you along the way,” Carley said. “ We have two amazing communities who have supported us in everything we have done.”
She continued to say that they have traveled many miles for the graduates, and sat in bleachers for a number of hours.
