This Saturday, June 27, has been declared Keep Nebraska Beautiful Day by Governor Pete Ricketts. The day is led by Keep Nebraska Beautiful. Together with its’ affiliate nonprofit organizations across the state, Keep Nebraska Beautiful is dedicated to providing environmental education, litter cleanup, waste reduction, and improved recycling to all Nebraskans.
Washington—Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), will be hosting the 2020 Third District Service Academy Open House on Tuesday, June 3o at 2:00 pm CDT. In order to ensure appropriate social distancing and limit the need for travel, the event will be held online.
SCOTTSBLUFF—Planning has begun for the 2020 Platte Valley Companies Monument Marathon, scheduled for Sept. 26 at 7:30 a.m. With the current global health pandemic, the race will likely look different than in previous years, but the Monument Marathon Steering Committee feels confident that they can put on another quality event in spite of the challenges.
The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regularly scheduled meeting on June 8th at 7PM in the High School Library. Board Member Wickard had an excused absence and all other members were present along with Principal Lecher, Principal Reynolds, Superintendent Lambert and Ms. Vonnie Brown. The meeting was on STRIV and was open to the public with the Social Distancing Directive being adhered to. There were no new board action items and majority of the meeting was to talk about administrative updates. The following items were gone over by the administration.
