Farmers State Bank sponsored their annual In the Park After Dark event, which was held this year at the Community Center due to the winter weather storm rolling in. Over a hundred children attended the event with parents and grandparents in tow. The children were dressed in various costumes, with many of the adults also dolled up for fun. Winners of the contest were Bridgeport Public Schools in first place, Waddell and Reed in second, and Plummer Insurance in 3rd place. Three prizes were given for most original costume and those winners were Walker Dermer as a porcupine, Violet Collins as Cindy LooHoo, and Alexis Liras as Mary Sanderson from Hocus Pocus.

Fall ReTree planting

Fall ReTree planting

Thanks to the Free Trees for Fall ReTree Planting program, an effort of the Nebraska Forest Service and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, the community of Bridgeport received 10 trees again this fall for the ReTree Bridgeport project. Each year, the City of Bridgeport strives to plant additional trees to help promote the value of healthy trees for a healthy community. We are so thankful for the benefit of receiving these quality trees at no cost through this grant program.
