Morrill County receives dividend check

LINCOLN—Morrill County has received another membership dividend, this time in the amount of $9,446, from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA), the county’s property, liability and workers’ compensation coverage and risk management services provider. The dividend was part of a $1 million distribution shared with 81 Nebraska counties and eight county-associated agencies.

Bring your old furniture to life! Soroptimist is proud to present a bi-annual Chairity Fundraiser. Paint or refurbish a chair and donate it to this fundraiser. Entries are not limited to chairs, but may include trunks, stools, benches, desks with chair, or bistro sets. If you would like to participate but do not have furniture available to you, West Nebraska Arts Center has some chairs that could use your creative attention.

Rushman-Sherbarth wed

Carly Rushman of Denver, Colorado, and Micah Scherbarth of Alliance, Nebraska, were wed on June 20, 2020, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Lodgepole. Pastor Michael Eckelkamp of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Denver officiated the 3:30 p.m. ceremony. Best man was the groom’s good friend, Nolan Hamilton of Casper, Wyoming. Ashley Lindholm of Gurley, NE, served her sister as matron of honor. Additional attendants to the groom were Will Krause of Lakeside, NE. friend of the groom; Isaac Friesen of Hot Springs, SD. brother-in-law of the groom; and Zane Hamilton of Gordon, NE, friend of the groom. The bride’s attendants were Jaimee Rushman of Dalton, NE, sister-in-law of the bride; Rachael Ernest of Dalton, NE, cousin of the bride; and Ashton Marshall of Grand Island, NE, friend of the bride. Ushers were Tyler Rushman, brother of the bride, and Kevin Lindholm, brother-in-law of the bride. Ring bearers were Kyle Friesen, nephew of the groom, and Kade Rushman, nephew of the bride. Flower girls were Peyton Rushman and Lynnora Lindholm, nieces of the bride. A reception followed at the Prairie Winds Community Center in Bridgeport. Following a road trip through the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park, the couple is at home in Alliance where Micah is engaged in ranching. Carly is employed as a middle school teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in Alliance.
