School hiatus is over

After more than five months’ absence, the students, teachers, and administrators at Bridgeport Public Schools came back to their new classrooms on Monday, August 24, for their first day of face-toface instruction since March 12. At that time, they were let out after a half a day to begin Spring Break and, due to the coronavirus scare and the ever-changing directed health measures, never came back to finish out the school year.

COURTESY PHOTOThe Bridgeport Bombers held their end of the summer celebration at Bowl Dog Lanes, trying out their luck in the sport of bowling. Instead of a ball flying through the air to hit a wooden bat, it was flying through the air to hit the slick wooden floor instead. The boys played several rounds, knocking down the pins like pros, ate supper, drank refreshments and had a generally relaxing time with their teammates and families before heading off to their own schools this fall.
