‘Mad Scientist’ Dan Glomski visits Bridgeport’s summer reading program Thursday

The Summer Reading Program at the Bridgeport Public Library was kicked-off Thursday with a visit from the “Mad Scientist” Dan Glomski with the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora. Glomski taught the kids about the differences between living and working in space and on earth through the Spaceflight Explorers program.

“What we were doing is showing how it’s different living and working in space compared to living here on Earth,” Glomski said. “The Spaceflight Explorers program is a show with materials provided the materials were provided by NASA.

Glomski said he has been doing the show since 2013, following a trip to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, where he had the opportunity to do a little bit of the astronaut training. The Edgerton Explorit Center was invited to participate in the program and, being the ‘space guy,’ Glomski was the one who got to go visit the space center.
