Be wary of scams
You would be hardpressed to find someone who hasn't received a spam phone call on their cell or home phone. And these days, the scam artists are using local numbers, increasing the likelihood that their victims will pick up the phone.
With new spoofing technology at their fingertips, it is becoming harder to recognize fraudulent callers.
"We have been getting a lot of calls about scams going on," said Morrill County Sheriff Milo Cardenas. "They are targeting everybody, but it seems like the elderly are the ones who are responding and sending money."
