Bridgeport School Board votes 5-1 to purchase new route bus
The Bridgeport School Board voted 5-1 Monday evening to purchase a new Thomas route bus for $84,830 with approximately half of it being paid for with a grant. Jeff Pohl was the single dissenting vote.
“One of the things we have discussed in the last six months is that we haven’t bought a bus in a long time and we are getting to a point on the route busses where we have one that we’re not running now that we feel we need to replace,” said Supt. Chuck Lambert. “Money is tight, so I was hoping to put it off a year, but in the meantime, Willis (Beyer) found this grant that would cover almost half the bus, so he applied for it and we received it.”
