Grit and determination defined BHS senior
A high-spirited week of Homecoming celebrations and school festivities at Bridgeport ended in tragedy over the weekend when Senior class member and starting tight end Joshua Warren, 17, was killed in an motor vehicle accident during the early morning hours of Saturday, September 26.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, Warren was driving a sedan when he crossed the center line and collided with a semi-truck driven by Gary Gooder, 47, also of Bridgeport, on Highway 26 near the Redington Gap Road. Gooder was not injured but Warren was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, a mere ten hours after kickoff on the Bulldog’s field in the Homecoming game against North Platte St. Pat’s.
