History shared during Trail Trek at Courthouse, Jail Rocks

Representatives from the BLM's National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper, Wyo., in partnership with Scotts Bluff National Monument, led a trail trek Saturday, July 28 at Courthouse and Jail Rocks south of Bridgeport. Trails center interpreters led a vehicle caravan along parts of the trail that were noted by emigrants for the magnificent landmarks on the trek titled “First Impressions: Monumental Discoveries by Pioneers on the Overland Trails in Western Nebraska.”

Interpreters read firsthand accounts from a range of sources while at the rocks and provided insight into how the landscape of western Nebraska played a role in shaping the experience of an the emigrants.
