Samples Dean Law opens office in Bridgeport
There’s a new attorney in town. Katie Samples Dean says her purpose in going to law school was to gain knowledge and actual skills to serve and advocate for farmers and ranchers. “It all started growing up with my extended family owning and operating a dairy farm and row crop operation in Colorado, with a heavy involvement in water law issues,” she said.
Dean pursued a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University, and interned for John Deere and the Kansas Department of Agriculture, where it became apparent to her that agriculture was in dire need of effective and passionate legal counsel. “Not only do farmers and ranchers need legal counsel as any business owner would, but they need an attorney that understands the day-to-day work, the actual risk involved both in production and financially, as well as, someone that understands it is as much about family dynamics and issues as any family law matter is,” Dean stated. “It was this experience that pushed me to attend law school instead of entering the agribusiness world.”
