School board discusses concerns about valuations
The Bridgeport Board of Education met Monday and Supt. Chuck Lambert warned the board what might happen to the district’s budget if valuations go down.
“For the first time in the last couple years, valuations are not moving up much and, in some places, they are even starting to decrease,” Lambert said. “In Furnace County, where I came from and where I have property, they are down 7 percent. I won’t lie to you, a 7 percent drop here would be devastating to the school.”
