The city council met in regular session on Thursday, October 15 and after routine business and public correspondence, the consent agenda was approved, including the approval of the Budget Hearing, and meeting minutes from September.
On Thursday, October 8, Bridgeport Girl Scouts held their annual fall Investiture and Bridging ceremony at the public library. Twenty-four girls participated in the formal event, in which six girls were bridging to the next level of scouts, and eighteen girls were investing in their future commitment to the Girl Scouting program.
The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regular monthly meeting on Monday October 12th at 7:00 p.m. All board members were present along with the administration, Ryan Amateis and Ms. Vonnie Brown. The board had one action item and that was to consider refinancing the school bonds to save the district 395K over the next 19 years. The board approved this possibility if the rate continues to hover around 2%. Currently the district is getting 3%.
The County Commissioners met in regular session on Tues., Oct. 13, with Commissioner Batterman absent. After the approval of the agenda and minutes of the previous meeting, correspondences were read and claims approved.
It was Bridgeport versus the Hemingford Bobcats and the Morrill Lions at the Morrill Triangular on Tuesday, September 22 and the Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs, in their second consecutive Tri, swept the competition away, this time taking both games in just two sets apiece.
