Cheer squad has new coach

Bridgeport High School welcomes new cheerleading coach Michaela Ryan, a 2013 graduate of Greeley Central in Greeley, Colorado, for the 2021-2022 school year. Ryan has an associate degree in Allied Health from Aims Community College and has lived in Bridgeport for the past three years with her husband, Pete, and three dogs, Gus, Precious, and Lola.

New COVID-19 data dashboard launched

Monday, Gov. Ricketts announced the State will launch a new data dashboard at dhhs.ne.gov to help track hospital capacity across Nebraska. The Governor issued Executive Order 21-14, effective immediately, to waive state statutes so that the data can be temporarily reported. The dashboard will remain active as long as 10% or more of the State’s staffed hospital beds are being used to care for coronavirus patients on a seven-day rolling average.

Lady Bulldogs on a roll

The Bridgeport volleyball team celebrated the championship of its home invitational on Saturday, September 11 at the high school, picking up three wins over Hyannis, Potter-Dix, and Mitchell to claim the title. The Ladies then turned around and took the dual played against Sidney and Chadron last Tuesday and won two out of three games in the Tourney at home this past Saturday.
